Letter from Shannon
Dear New Friend,
I’m so excited to get to know you!
My name is Shannon Sutherland.
I’m a sophomore in high school at 15 years old and I go to a school called Marin Catholic. I have one little brother named Kyle. He is 12 years old.
How old are you? Do you have any brothers or sisters?
I go to school five days a week, and take geometry, honors chemistry, honors English, honors western civilization, theology, Spanish, and art. My favorites are western civilization, art, and theology.
I like western civilization because it gives me a sense of where I come from, art because it allows me to be actively creative and expand my artistic skill, and theology because of the philosophic aspect of the discussions.
What is your school like? What classes do you take? Which are your favorites?
I am a rower for Marin Rowing, which is a club down the street from my school.
My teammates and I row almost everyday on a creek in front of our boathouse. Do you do any sports or extra curricular activities?
I’m working very hard in school right now. I’m taking all of the honors classes that I can and doing my best to outdo my classmates. When I finish college, I think I will go into written journalism, become a lawyer, or become a translator. I still have some time to decide.
What is your dream? Do you know what you want to do with your life?
Best regards,
Shannon
